Five
I was going through my first blog and found that I did Friday Five before, a long time ago. I thought its something rather interesting and I think I will start doing it again.
1. What item would you be embarrassed for people to know you own? [I don’t know, nothing really. Oh yes, girl flick movies!]
2. What is something you splurged on just for you? [I buy fine watches as gifts for the past few years. Especially so, when a number of my friends turns 21.]
3. What is something that you own with no real world value that is priceless to you? [Ah… this require some thinking. Normally such stuff will pop up during spring cleaning. I guess it will be photographs. Isn’t it wonderful that they can capture the moment of perfection?]
4. Do you collect anything? [Yes. Dust and pornography.]
5. What item belonging to a friend/family member do you covet? [Erney’s Audi TT. Brian’s Ulysse Nardin watch (it makes my Corum looks cheap.)]
What’s happening?
5th October
The left leg is not well again. Since the last sprain it’s not getting any much better. Hence, I went back to the doctor. He said that its not completely healed and I’m hurting myself again. It was bad news as it means I can’t be walking about. Its really frustrating as I simply cannot sit down.
Victory on Bureaucratic Hill
That afternoon, the lady from MPA called and said that my LOE is ready for collection. Finally! I have to say that you cannot be kind to bureaucrats. They are the first people who will take your kindness as weakness. Even so, I was happy.
“We the few, the happy few…”
I was so happy that I could study no more for the rest of the day. And did not; the fact is that its really way too warm to be studying. That evening, I bought myself a MacSpicy. My first MacDonald’s for a very long time. It was good. After dinner, turned on the air con at full blast and went under the cover and watch Henry V. It was beautiful. The way Shakespears writes is like wiping your arse with silk.
6th October
Ms Chia threw a birthday party. I having only know her and only her was not very keen in attending. Last year, at least his boyfriend was as bored as I am. Don’t get the wrong idea. His boyfriend is not anti-social, but he’s not really approved by the family. Since many of the family members were present, he had to keep a low profile. I did send her my finest regards, and used my leg as a very genuine reason for my absent. That afternoon, on the other hand, was pretty productive. I am in full swing in my studies. I managed to complete most of the tougher topics yesterday. Perhaps its because I’ve done it before. Perhaps, I have knowingly realized that I am doing with a purpose.
“Give the mind a purpose and the body will follow.”
As you can see, with the approval of the LOE, it means that I can appear for my orals. Hence, there will be more studying coming up. God is therefore doing me a favor?
For King and Country
Lionel messaged me this morning saying he got his enlistment notices. Two week notices falls nicely. Two weeks, not a day more, not a day less. He was overjoyed. Like youth of our generation, he is longing for a purpose. To be trapped in a space where no glory whatsoever can be seen in the future is indeed a sad way to live. Ironically, it is the doing of the government to put such sadness in the people. For what greater purpose to the people who had been proclaimed free, I see none. Youth is wasted on the young, for what reimbursement to our young man’s sacrifices, are written in air.
For what purpose, only time can tell; and time, is proven wasted.
